Observation task 4: Planning and preparing for learning




Teacher activity

Time spent
Teachers teach the low student group. She teaches them how to write their names.
Teacher teaches student how to write numbers. She plays a songs and she uses boards, markers.


Teacher play letters song.
They write their names and they ask teacher for help.


Student listens to the song. Than the teacher put the bears, after that student count the bears and wrote the number in the board. 

Student sing with the song so they learn how to pronounces the letters.

Interview with my teacher:

  1. How do you plan? Do you plan weekly, daily, as part of a team or individually? She plans with English and Arabic teachers. Than, she plans with English teachers. After that, she plans with Arabic teacher in the class. Finally, she plans weekly with herself.  
  2.      Do you do anything you haven’t planned to do? Always, sometimes children finish the activity before the end of time so I have to give them something else. Also, some visitor comes suddenly so I had to change my plan
  3.      What is important to you when planning a lesson? When I do my lesson plan, I have to think about what children like, what they know and the children ability.
  4.  Do you plan to do the same thing with all the children in the classroom? (Why/Why not? No, each children has a different level.


Reflection..4.. 


        Planning and preparation for learning important because planning make the lesson easy for the children and make teaching easy for me. Before planning I have to think, what the children like, what they know, how they are thinking and children ability. I observe that the class time is organised and the teacher knows what she does and how to do it. I feel relieved because I saw the results of good planning on the teacher and students. Teach children are not easy, but if we make a good plan, the teaching will be very easy.
